Frank Harte - There's Gangs Of them Digging.
Gangs continued Franks theme of albums refecting historical epochs and one such era was the time of the Irish Navvie. This album is a collection of songs documenting their story. Frank's assertion that this history of a people is found in their folk songs rarely more applicable.
€10.00

Frank Harte - Dublin Street Songs and Through Dublin City
These are LPs of mostly traditional Irish songs by Frank Harte. Dublin Street Songs became Frank Harte's first LP recording in 1967, having been recorded in two days earlier that year by Bill Leader in England at the same time as the tracks that were to become Through Dublin City, which was issued on the Topic label in 1973. €10.00

Scullion - Ghosts and Heroes
1992 Album from the great Scullion. Philip King, Sonny Condell & Greg Boland . €5.00

Dónal Lunny - Coolfin
Dónal Lunny isn't a legendary figure in Irish music for nothing. He helped revolutionize it with the Bothy Band, in addition to his own work and guesting on other peoples' albums. So when he put a band together, it was bound to be interesting... But while the focus is very much on Irish music, the gaze does run wider, taking in Moldavia ... and such traditional goodies as "The Lowlands of Holland" and "False Fly." Most of the tunes, however, are from Lunny's pen, and in this company they come across as a glorious, high-class session. Lunny himself is outstanding on bouzouki and guitar, but he never dominates, allowing this to be a real band album... there's little doubt that the quality of the musicianship and arrangements marks a standard everyone else now has to measure up to..."Chris Nickson €10.00

Scullion were formed in the mid-70s by Sonny Condell, with vocalist Philip King and guitarist Greg Boland. Over a series of three albums they perfected a contemporary folk which melded elements of the traditional (the acapella version of I am Stretched on Your Grave), with self-penned masterpieces (Eyelids into Snow) and select covers (John Martyn's "John the Baptist"). King's voice has a plaintive beauty, but it is Condell's arrangements and songwriting, Boland's masterful guitar and the sheer joy and energy which makes them worth investigating. The group split after Boland's departure and the original albums are now unavailable - make the most of this compilation. €10.00

This Is My Father: Soundtrack. An original soundtrack composed by Donal Lunny and featuring Donal Lunny, Nollaig Casey, John McSherry, Oisin Lunny, Sharon Shannon & Graham Henderson. €5.00.

... Sharon Shannon had plunged headfirst into a wide variety of styles on her previous endeavors. On Live in Galway, she sticks to what she does best: traditionally rooted contemporary Celtic music. One of the album's most intriguing tracks is the quirky "Mouth of the Tobique" in which the band skitters and skips while changing tempo and rhythm, all in perfect unison... the musicianship is that exact and tight. Other highlights include the two-pronged attack of "Fire in the Bellies" and the gentle reel "The Mighty Sparrow." Some of the tracks are stripped down, with just Shannon on her instrument of choice, while others are with her full six-piece band, but all of them still hold the earnest thread that has earned her critical acclaim around the world. ~ Zac Johnson €5.00

In Praise of Mary, an album recorded by the community in our Abbey church in January 2007, marked the seventy-fifth anniversary of Cistercian life in Glencairn.  Our singing of the Divine Office seven times a day in choir, including a night office, has been sustained over the generations by women who have dedicated their lives to the continuous praise of God and intercession for the needs of the world, striving to worship “with one heart, joining constantly in prayer.” (Acts 1:14)  The hymns and chants in this collection are taken from our daily praise in the liturgy of the hours and of the eucharist.  The album was produced by Noirin Ni Riain. €5.00

El Amor De Mi Vida (the title track by Warren Zevon) is a stunning album produced by Mike Hanrahan of Stockton's Wing fame, with fresh interpretations of songs from many different genres. The combination of Drew's instantly recognisable gutsy, raw-edged vocals and Shanley's much subtler delicate voice give us unforgettable versions of The Good old Days (Eels) with sax by Keith Donald, Hang Down Your Head (Tom Waits), The Ballad of Henry Lee (Nick Cave) featuring Sharon Shannon, and Farewell (Dylan) with haunting fiddle playing by Winnie Horan. Eleanor Shanley also contributes a solo version of When God Made Me (Neil Young) and the traditional Sé Fáth mo Bhuartha, while Ronnie Drew performs a memorable version of Beautiful World (Brady) with Paul Brady on piano. €5.00

Damien Dempsey - It's All Good CD single (3 tracks) €3.00

Damien Dempsey (Debut Album) - They Don't Teach This Shit In School.

Irish singer Pauline Scanlon, who got her start as the vocalist in Sharon Shannon's band, gets the chance to shine with her debut album. She excels where the heart is involved, giving a beautiful luminosity to Don McLean's "And I Love You So" and "All the Ways You Wander," where her voice is supported purely by drones. She's at her best, however, surrounded by a full complement of musicians, as on the traditional pieces "Molly Ban" and "What Put the Blood." Sharon Shannon and Damien Dempsey guest. A sensational debut. €10.00
